When it comes to dressing up for Halloween these days, we are a bunch of wussies. Today people see Halloween as a time to dress sexy or cute, but rarely do you see actual scary Halloween Costumes…well except or clowns, but they are a year round thing so they don’t count in my eyes. One of my favorite Halloween movies, Trick ‘r Treat hits this point home perfectly, I mean just look at them!
Now those kids were supposed to be from around the 1950’s, but folks in the early 1900’s really knew what the fuck they were doing in the costume department. Below are 10 of the creepiest photos of people dressed to scare on Halloween back in the day. I’ve listed them from least scary to WTF because I care about you guys and don’t want to traumatize you so badly that you never read my blog again.
See? not all the photos are going to be bad, like this one of a lady dressed as a court jester. It’s actually pretty cute right?
Okay, this one is a little more creepy just because the gentleman inside this moth costume looks like he might be on a sex offender registry somewhere, but still not too bad.
This poor guy just looks like he lost a bet and his buddies forced him into the rooster costume. It doesn’t scare me, it just makes me feel sorry for him.
Aaaaaaand here we go as we start our decent down the rabbit hole, or should I say creepy rat hole.
Okay, I have no idea what this lovely lady was trying to dress up as, but if I saw her skating up the walkway to my front door I would just throw the candy at her.
And then there is these two cutie patooties that look like they should be in a Die Antwoord video. Not sure what the noise makers were for, maybe to warn others that they were coming down the street?
I just have one thing to say about this photo…eyelids. You need eyelids!
